Every track starts with a beat, and these three are built to work together. RatMIDI generates the parts — drum grooves, melodies, harmony, basslines — and lets you drag each one out as MIDI. DrumDNA writes the drums like a producer would: pick a genre, a section and a length, steer it with six macros, lock what you like, build a whole song, and drag the MIDI out. EightOhEight is the clean-to-nasty 808: one Mild→Wild knob from smooth sub to distorted low end. Subverter is for bass that talks — reese oscillators, drawable wub patterns, and a mod matrix aimed straight at dubstep and everything adjacent. GrowlHound is the growl itself: an FM throat, a vowel-shaping mouth, metal, violence and tempo-locked movement in one voice, over a separate sub that nothing touches. The melodic voices
RatSound generates strings, brass, woodwinds, keys, plucks, mallets, and voice from physical modeling — no sample library, full MPE. BrassKnuckles is the horn section done for real: four sampled brass instruments with an ensemble engine that goes from tight ska stabs to trap braams. RatBells fuses real bells with a modal bell synth and FM, from a glockenspiel to a cathedral peal. RatFlute is the Egyptian film-score flute: a real recorded ney, duduk and kaval blended with a modelled ney, kawala, arghul and mizmar, always in the maqam, quarter tones and all. RatTubes is a physically modelled tube you can blow, hit, whirl or send a rat through. The Bubbler covers the liquid stuff — pops, drips, and glassy plinks for deep dubstep and riddim leads. The sounds between the notes. Lazy Laser makes pews, zaps, blasters, laser harps and risers from seven knobs, in time and in key. The Zipper is a zipper you can play in tune: pull slowly and you hear the teeth, pull fast and they fuse into a note — from foley grooves to zipper leads. AirForce plays jets, warbirds and helicopters with real Doppler flybys, LocoMotives puts horns, whistles, bells and brakes on the keys with the train running underneath, and TuskFang is a wild animal you can play, from snorts and growls to roars and rumbles. AlienFoundry is the effects cupboard: risers, impacts, pass-bys and transmissions built from real industrial and space recordings.
