The Bubbler

Pops, bloops, drips, and plinks — the liquid pluck machine.

The Bubbler plugin interface

Overview

The Bubbler does one thing: those short, plucky, liquid bubble sounds you hear in deep dubstep, dubstep, and riddim. Normally you build them by hand in a big synth — fast pitch envelope, screaming resonant filter, a bit of FM, a comb for the hollow tone — and then you do it again for the next one. Here that whole voice is already wired up behind ten macros: Bubble, Pop, Ping, Hollow, Tube, Squish, Space, Drip, Decay, and Humanize. Pick a Character — Bubble, Drop, Wood, Glass, Rubber, Metal, Alien, Grime, or Shard — and the same knobs take on a different material. Humanize adds small per-note variation so repeated notes sound like drips instead of a machine gun, and the built-in delay and reverb are tuned to stay out of the transient's way. It is not a general-purpose synth, on purpose.
